Inventor of the first composite paddle using space age material from Boeing airplanes. Arlen was a supervising engineer for Boeing and developed a paddle which was lighter yet had a larger sweet spot than the heavy wooden paddles that were being used. His 1st prototype was in 1984 and soon after he formed Pro-lite which is still in existence today but under new ownership. He sold the company in the mid 90’s. Today there are over 90 paddle manufacturers and all of them use the basic technology that Arlen invented.
